6–8 months

Soak muesli overnight or for several hours in breast milk, formula, or full-fat yoghurt until the grains are very soft and the mixture is thick and sticky. The consistency should be similar to porridge so it clumps together rather than scattering. Allow your baby to scoop the mixture with their hands or offer it on a pre-loaded spoon for them to bring to their mouth.

9–11 months

Continue to serve soaked muesli with a thick, scoopable texture, mixed with breast milk, formula, or yoghurt. At this age, babies are developing their pincer grasp, so you can encourage self-feeding by pre-loading a spoon and placing it on the tray for them to pick up. You may also offer soaked muesli formed into soft patties or fingers that are easy to hold and bite.

12–24 months

Soaked muesli can now be served in a bowl with a spoon for independent feeding, though expect plenty of mess as your toddler practises. The texture can be slightly looser if your child is comfortable with utensils. You can also shape soaked muesli into small fingers or balls that can be eaten as a finger food alongside other breakfast items.
